Hello and Welcome

This blog is inspired by some personal experiences as a physiotherapist. Here, you will find topics close to The Little Physio Guide’s heart. You will find topics about burnout and mental health management as a physiotherapist and musings on current issues as a physiotherapist. Intermingled amongst it all, you will find illustrations inspired by little moments in life as a physio and as a person. The Little Physio Guide is a resource to share and increase awareness about the importance of taking care of one’s mind to be a happy, healthy and balanced physiotherapist. By no means is The Little Physio Guide an expert on these topics. The hope is that by sharing these experiences and thoughts, we can prevent burnout and have happy, healthy and balanced physiotherapists who continue to love what they are doing and love whom they work with every day.

Hi :) I am a physiotherapist and I started The Little Physio Guide to share awareness about burnout and self-care as a physiotherapist.

I started this blog because I struggled to find a happy balance between work and my personal life in the first few years as a physiotherapist. It was challenging and I found myself burning out many times before I finally found my way out.

I was and am still at heart, a scientist. I love to ask questions and critically analyse what I come across whether that is a news or health article, someone’s preferred way of working or the evidence behind a treatment and management.

I studied biomedical science and science, majoring in genetics and developmental biology, then started getting into a research degree. During my short stint in a postgraduate research degree, I found my most rewarding days were when I had helped someone out. So, I separated with research to pursue physiotherapy where I could help people out more directly.

At the end of the day, I am a person, daughter, friend, partner and yogi-gardener. And I love to help people from all walks of life and am thrilled to be able share ideas through this medium. If you are able to get something small out of this, a glimmer of hope, a small ray of sunshine into your day, then I am grateful to have passed something on.

Thank-you for visiting and reading!
